inspirational cards

Inspirational cards are a great creative project to work on with your family, friends or on your own.
These cards; which you can make yourself, are a visual representation of an affirmation, quality or value you would like to see enhanced (or introduced) into your life; they can also be a representation of gratitude or honouring. It is a fun and creative way to assist you to empower yourself... or you can make them for others as a gift.
You will need: firm card, a pile of magazines, scissors, glue and a large flat surface to work on. A large table is great because then you can spread yourself out.
Lay out your materials before you and just sit quietly a moment before you start. Think about aspects of your life that you would like support with - it may be inner qualities like patience, calm, vitality, strength... or more worldly aspects like: a beautiful home, relaxing holiday ... whatever area of your life you would like to see more energy directed to. It may be that you want to create cards of gratitude and beauty.
Then when you have that quality or aspect in mind begin to look through the magazines for photographs or words that capture these elements. Cut them out and make a collage on the card. A good size is about 15 x 10 cm. You can overlay the photos and words and create a card that will inspire and remind you of these aspects. You may want to write inspiring quotes or affirmations on the cards.
Place the finished cards where you will see them often to remind you to call in that energy to your life or use them as you would oracle cards. Hold them in your hands and shuffle them and draw a card out and see what the 'lesson' or reminder is for that moment.
Most of all be playful, creative and have fun!
