‘Inspiring, empowering, peaceful, heartfelt, enlightening’…

Celebrating This Precious Life: Honest Conversations about Death and Dying.

Who is this workshop for?

Young and old people; individuals, couples, people with elderly parents, people with children, people who live on their own, people who are healthy or unwell. This program is designed to create a safe place where we can talk about death and dying in a friendly and relaxed manner. Talking about death doesn’t have to be morbid. It may be awkward or challenging and we get to explore how we can meet those difficulties. You will leave the sessions with tools, information and ideas about being a great ally to yourself, your friends and family when having these often hard conversations. You will have access to a wealth of resources to inspire and support you.

FIRST FRIDAY MORNINGS OF THE MONTH 9am AEST (Thursday afternoon/evening in the USA)

A structured program with lots of room for spontaneity. Trauma informed practices, creative writing, poetry, small and large group connections, a wealth of resources. Offered freely to ensure access for all.

Just some of the many reflection points:

  • Understanding different ways of acknowledging death and celebrating life. How do you want your life or the life of your loved ones to be honoured?
  • Dying at home, dying in hospital? Why do many doctors choose less intervention when faced with terminal illness?
  • Opening to see death as a natural process: what does that look like when its your own death?
  • Dignity and lack of dignity with death and dying: how do we walk with either or both of these?

Love notes about the intro program:

  • Wonderful introduction and weaving of mindfulness, NVC and discussions. It gave me a taster and increased awareness of how important and big this topic is. It was precious to me to witness and be a part of the vast range of life stories, experiences with death, conversations of our own grief and experiences show shared in the group…
  • I appreciated the tools for me to use, to better meet others needs when they grieve…
  • I love your poetry and your references to ceremonies you have been the celebrant for. I love the comfort you bring in speaking about death and normalising it…
  • I have never experienced a workshop like this before. I so enjoyed the other members of the group and the openness and trust we shared. You created that openness and trust and I thank you…
  • Great to be able to hear practical experiences about death, dying, terminal illness, and funerals – and to share with and hear from others in the group…
  • A new perspective on death. More joy in death… I’m inspired with the self-empathy, practice and getting more in touch with feelings, needs, empathic, listening….
  • Today was calming, safe, trustful, and emotionally restorative. The poetry was sublime and reassuring. The workshop was empowering and helpful. I liked the balance of today. I am deeply satisfied.
