Lao Tzu
I wrote this poem after reflecting upon the vows we make to each other.
I marry you
Knowing
That you will die
Or leave;
Or, that one day,
I will die
Or leave.
Our coming
Together
Is the first step
That precedes
The last step
Of saying
Goodbye.
I marry you
Knowing
This truth,
My love.
I marry you
Nonetheless,
With great joy.

Ah Wendy what a gift you have. I have been asked to conduct a wedding then the funeral of a friend. Do you think this verse would be too poignant? kindest regards Marg
Hi Marg, I would check in with the couple and see what their response is. Much love and presence for both ceremonies.
Deeply and warmly touched by this, Wendy. This has gently blew my fear of loving someone or allowing myself to be loved by someone because the pain of losing them is unbearable…Thank you Wendy for sharing this : )
